Suppressing Methods of the Pressure Fluctuation in Open Jet Wind Tunnels
نویسندگان
چکیده
Due to the distinctive structure of test section, open jet wind tunnel generates low-frequency pressure fluctuations (LFFs) within range typical speeds. These significantly compromise quality flow field in section. The evolution and vortex is analysed through improved delayed detached eddy simulations (IDDES). LFFs control mechanism Jilin University are then studied. interaction between large-scale shedding at nozzle exit collector forms edge feedback, which main reason for fluctuation. According feedback mechanism, suppressed using throat gap by improving shapes. results show that increase length can alleviate accumulation inside collector. change shapes impact area time incoming flow, or produce permanent affect shape collector, allows LFFs. This study lays a solid foundation further comprehension aerodynamic characteristics tunnels.

Flow visualization techniques in wind tunnels –optical methods (Part II)
An attempt is made to describe and review the most widely used methods for flow visualization. The first part described the basis and applications of different visualization methods for subsonic and supersonic flow in wind and water tunnels. This part concentrates on optical methods (shadow, schlieren and interferometry) and their application in compressibe flow visualization. Almost all presen...
متن کاملNumerical investigation of the refraction effects by jet flows in anechoic wind tunnels
In regard to the problem of aircraft noise mitigation, the present study focuses on the refraction effects to be possibly induced by anechoic facility jet flows on the measured acoustic signatures, during typical airframe noise experiments. To this end, Computational AeroAcoustics (CAA) calculations based on the solving of the Perturbed Euler Equations (PEE) are conducted, enabling the estimati...
متن کاملFlow Visualization in Wind Tunnels
Flow visualization is an experimental means of examining the flow patterns around a body or over its surface. The flow is “visualized” by introducing dye, smoke or pigment into the flow in the area under investigation. The primary advantage of such a method is its ability to provide a description of the flow over a model without a complicated data reduction and analysis. Smokeflow visualization...
